Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency is a site which hosts video and commentary looking at the portrayals of female characters in popular media and popular. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian as well as an American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency, a website to educate women about their positions in the pop culture narratives was the result of her research. She also serves as the director of operations. As well as working to highlight the problems surrounding the harassment and targeted assaults on women and others of minority groups in the online world, she is dedicated to breaking the stereotypes prevalent in pop culture. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in social and political thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she's well-known and has given talks at TEDxWomenXOXO and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Inquiring about gender identity and feminism from the age of 7, she started her own website Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was she was still at university. In 2009, the ambitious young woman was slammed online for launching a website series on gender in videogames. The attack wasn't enough to deter her. Instead, it increased her importance to be a feminist as well as media critic. Numerous awards have been awarded to her for her contributions to the field she contributed to.
