Alison Krauss was born July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnn Kymes and Alison Krauss were the two youngest Grammy Award winners. Alison Maria Krauss was born in July 1971. Alison is a country and bluegrass artist. Alison Krauss started her career in music early and was a winner of local contests by the age of 10. Her first recording was her first album at 14. She signed with Rounder Records in 1985 and made her debut self-titled album on the label in the year 1987. She was then invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, her current band that she sings together. The first album she released in a group with this band was released in 1989.
