
Thomas William Selleck is an American actor from the United States. His most recognizable role was that of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) during which time he was nominated five times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series. He was awarded the award in 1985. In the television series Blue Bloods, Selleck has been a part of the character Frank Reagan, New York City Police Commissioner. In 2005 his role was as troubled small-town police chief Jesse Stone in nine television films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). Also, he's appeared in more than 50 other roles in television and films since Magnum, P.I., including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball.
